Malt Beer Muffins

Malt beer is delicious and so are these muffins. They're juicy and crunchy, and you can probably make them with 'real' beer as well. If you do, please let me know how they tasted! The original recipe is from one of my favourite baking books, but I've changed it a little bit this time, using up a bag of cranberries.


  • 150 g wheat flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • 75 g brown sugar

  • 8 g vanilla sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 2 eggs

  • 75 g soft butter

  • 175 ml malt beer

  • 150 g cranberries

  • 50 g Pumpernickel

  • 100 g icing sugar

160°C / 30min
