Christmas Cards 2012
Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to the reason I've started Karamellkastanie? Yes, that's right: Christmas cards. I've been making cards for a couple of years now and enjoying it immensely. My mum came up with the idea to sell them on the internet, but to be fair, one card would have to be quite expensive, considering both the time it takes to craft it and the material I have to buy to make it in the first place.
[Maybe I'll give it a try this year, but I honestly don't think I'll have enough time for making cards additionally to those I make anyway for my family and close friends. What do you think? Would you buy a card? How much would you be willing to pay for it? Please leave a comment or write me a message.]
Anyway, the idea stuck in my mind. Not so much the part of earning money with it but more the showing-my-babies-to-the-world part. And this is where I started thinking about a blog. Video tutorials... crafting instructions... recipes! I remember lying in my bed late at night, feeling super excited. I took notes of whatever came into my mind and somehow managed to fall asleep nevertheless. The next morning, surprisingly, my notes still made sense and the idea was still appealing.
And so it began.
Finally, in December, it was time to make the Christmas cards video. As I wanted to put as many cards in there as possible, I chose not to do a live tutorial. I don't think that would have been necessary, anyway, as the pictures are explanation enough :)
The pics show both old cards I've made during the last three or four years and those I've made in 2012. In the past, most cards have been rather cute, but last year I wanted to go more mature, classy, stylish.
